The family tries to adapt to new surroundings in the premiere of a series about a cheated-on wife of a country star who moves to California with her mom and kids and tries to restart her own singing career.

When Reba learns that June's school has dropped its music program, she tries to rally the music committee moms to revive it. Cash gets a reputation as a bully after he stands up to the most popular boy in school, and enjoys the popularity that his new "bad boy" persona brings. Meanwhile, when June lets it slip at school that Cash is still a virgin, Uncle Blake gives him some questionable advice, which Cash awkwardly puts into action to help remedy his situation.

Reba thinks her dream of reviving her music career is one step closer to becoming a reality when she finally meets Geoffrey's boss, Mr. Bata, in person. But when he informs her that The Big Break he's giving her is writing commercial jingles, Reba begins to worry that her chances of getting back into the music industry may be over. Meanwhile, Kim lets Reba know that she is concerned about Sage's future when he decides against applying to Stanford because he doesn't want to be away from girlfriend June and also wants to pursue a music career.
