The Real World: Austin is the 16th season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. The Real World: Austin won "Favorite Season" at the 2008 The Real World Awards Bash. The season premiere was watched by nearly 4 million viewers.

Danny and Melinda contemplate their future as the roommates prepare to leave Austin. Also, on the roommates' last night in Austin, Wren slaps Wes for letting his roommates know they had sex. Wes gets angry at Rachel for having told Wren this and a huge fight ensues.

Episode 23 - Who's In Jail?

The roommates have to post bail to free Nehemiah from jail so he can finish editing their SXSW documentary; then there's a frantic last minute rush to get a finished show to the big premier scheduled by the Austin Film Society. Also, an out of control Wes angers Rachel.

Episode 22 - Nehemiah's Actin' Up

The roommates are scheduled to show their SXSW documentary to a large audience, but just days before the event, when his editing skills are most needed, Nehemiah is arrested and jailed. Also, Wes kisses Johanna in front of Wren to make her jealous.

While the other roommates enjoy a dream vacation surfing and white water rafting in Costa Rica, Danny's jealousy causes him to break off his relationship with Melinda.

Episode 20 - The Pressure's On

The roommates have to get a first cut of their SXSW documentary approved by the Austin Film Society before they can go on their trip, but they are depending on Nehemiah's skills as an editor and he's not coming through for them.

Rachel tells her back home boyfriend that she's ready to end their break, but when Erik comes for a visit she finds she still has mixed feeling. Also, Danny finally decides to file a complaint with the police against the guy who assaulted him.

The local music festival is in full swing and the roommates are getting their footage together.

Mel gets the gang on a dude ranch. While there, Danny continues to question his relationship with Mel. After another night out of drunken debauchery, Wes and Danny begin to feel like they could be missing out on the most exciting time of their lives by trying to maintain their respective relationships.

Nehemiah's portrait work is criticized by their editor but takes it all in stride. Later at a bar, Nehemiah tries to start a fight after a drink is spilled on him but Wes stops him from becoming to violent.

Episode 12 - Things are Heating Up

Wes meets a girl, Wren, at a bar and brings her home to meet the rest of the housemates. Jo begins to second guess her decision to blow Wes off and later, Wes and Jo share their first kiss. Rachael opens up to Danny about her experiences in Iraq

Episode 11 - Danny's Back!

The housemates receive their next film assignment and Danny returns. Instead of hanging out with Mel, Danny goes out with the guys instead which upsets Mel. Mel gets drunk and Danny ends up taking care of her.

Episode 10 - Jo and Leo Sittin' in a Tree?

Jo and Leo go on a date and Leo tells Wes that he thinks Jo is just leading him on. Wes tells this to Jo, who isn't happy about it, and then tells Wes she isn't speaking to him for a long time.

Danny goes back to Boston for his mother's funeral. Mel worries that Danny won't come back to Austin and Nehemiah worries his mother won't make it out of rehab. Lacey's boyfriend, Ryan, visits.

Episode 8 - A Heartbreaking Valentine's Day

Danny plans a date with Melinda for Valentine's Day and spends the day shopping with Nehemiah for the right shirt and tie to wear on the special day. When they return from shopping, Danny gets a devistating phone call that his mother died earlier that day from a heart attack.
