The show's format consists of four to seven teams of two undertaking a coach tour principally of continental Europe. The tours have usually lasted 30 or 50 days, with passengers remaining on the tour only until they are ejected by their companions on one day, to be replaced by a new couple the following day. The travellers are accompanied by tour guide Brendan Sheerin, who appears in every episode.

Coach Trip Season 4 Full Episode Guide
A double-episode looking back at the highs and lows of Brendan's longest ever coach trip.
The Sahara desert is the end of the road for the current series, with the group transported by camels to a Bedouin oasis for a final party with a feast and dancing. At the final vote, the group chooses their favourite pair of tourists - who receive another coach holiday as a prize!
The tourists spend the morning in the desert near Nefta in Tunisia, trying out quad bikes. They also handle snakes and scorpions at a visit to an oasis - with a sting in the tail for one couple at vote time.
The group have a real taste of Tunisia when they prepare a goats' head stew.
The coach lands in Africa and the party descend on Tunis for a day at the luxury spa.
The behaviour of two of the younger members of the party spoils a trip to Mount Etna in Italy.
In Malta Brendan ditches the coach in favour of a vintage tour bus and the group pay a visit to a honey farm where they meet some fiesty bees.
The coach rolls into Palermo and the group visit the spooky local catacombs and make the local creamy dessert, cannoli.
The group try their hand at making pizzas in Naples. Two of the tourists are rude to a local waiter.
The tour bus arrives in the Italian city of Caserta. Two of the younger tourists drive Brendan mad by mucking about at an olive oil farm. The afternoon is spent at a mozzarella factory, where the smell is too much for most of the tourists.
The tour party arrives in Rome. After a session in leather at gladiator school, two of the recent additions to the group get a nasty surprise at the vote.
A trip to a paper museum in Amalfi gets a lukewarm response, but the afternoon spent making limoncello proves to be more popular.
After a boozy ferry crossing, the party land in Italy and try their hand at zip wiring.
In Patras, Greece, the group go for a spin at a go-kart track and make souvlaki before boarding the night ferry bound for southern Italy.
In the ancient city of Olympia the travellers are almost arrested for taking their shirts off.
In Nafplion in Greece, Nathan and Romane join the tour and immediately annoy Brendan.
New arrivals Eileen and Jake are thrown straight in at the deep end with a bungee jump in Corinth.
The group arrive in Athens, where they brave a visit to a theme park in the middle of a lightning storm. A huge falling out leads to a shock departure at vote time.
The group are joined by two noisy tourists as they travel to the famous oracle at Delphi.
The group get lost in Greece, finally arriving in Volos for an afternoon of canyoning.
In Thessaloniki the group learn to make cocktails, but later on things get a bit heated when it's time to vote.
The Greek adventure continues in Xanthi as the group enjoy a canoeing trip and a visit to a local mud bath.
The coach crosses the border into Greece and stops off at the Evros national park, where the group goes bird-watching and gets a painting lesson.
The group head along the Turkish coast to Tekirdag, indulging in a golf lesson and olive oil wrestling.
The group continue their journey around Istanbul, visiting a spice market and taking a boat across the Bosphorus.
The group visit the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
The tour arrives in Turkey, where they take a trip to a traditional steam bath.
The group are still in Bulgaria, where they learn how to cook local delicacies such as cow's brain. After an afternoon of medieval fighting, the battle continues at the next vote.
Two new couples join the coach as the group heads into Bulgaria, where they enjoy a pottery class and a traditional bagpipe lesson.
The group heads further east into Serbia, where everyone is underwhelmed by a world heritage site ranked as the 77th wonder of the world. Later, at a local spa, Luke and his girlfriend's mum, Trish, are embarrassed when they end up having topless massages in the same room.
In Nis in Serbia the group are joined by a new couple whose relationship raises a few eyebrows. Two of the remaining original tourists get a nasty surprise at vote time.
One of the tour party takes a shine to the local guide on a museum visit in Belgrade and also impresses everyone with his incredible water-skiing skills. The four original tourists still on board do their best to manipulate the vote in order to stay in the game.
Brendan leads the group on a day of country pursuits in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. A new 'celebrity' couple join the tour, and settle in with the group instantly.
In Zagreb, Croatia, an edible flower-making class ends in disgrace for three of the boys. A visit to the zoo goes better and two new couples join the trip.
The tourists try milking cows on a farm in Styria, Austria. Brendan enjoys the visit to the local chocolate factory. Later, there is another surprise exit from the trip.
The group arrive in the Slovenian city of Maribor, where they have fun dancing on a river raft and rope swinging above a valley. Brendan also has his feathers ruffled by a local guide who is more popular than him.
En route from Venice to Llubljana, the group go through some spectacular caves and ride a hovercraft.
In Venice, the group take gondola lessons and relax at the beach. But who will get the yellow card?
A fight breaks out on the coach as it descends on Vicenza.
The coach pulls up on the shores of Lake Garda, picking up two new tourists, who make it clear they plan to break up the existing voting alliance.
The tour visits Milan, where the group pretend to be David Beckham at the San Siro stadium, and then head to the city's cathedral, where Brendan has a row with a local guide.
It's day nine, and a scheduled trip up a mountain is ruined by bad weather. Later two tourists get really drunk and make fools of themselves at lunch.
A new couple join the party as they head for Switzerland, where one tour member has a nasty fall on the ice. and another has a nasty strop at a medieval castle tour.
Despite a fun morning touring Dijon, the group are getting bored of France and dreary afternoon making local mustard doesn't help.
The coach rolls into Chablis on day six for some adrenaline-fuelled rock-climbing, which the group love, and some fine wine tasting which is less of a success. At the vote one of the original couples get their marching orders.
In Paris, Brendan gets lost walking to the Eiffel Tower. And after a fencing lesson in the afternoon, one pair of the tour party find they've been stabbed in the back at vote time.
The party arrive in Paris for some horse riding, and then a can-can lesson, which one couple refuses to take part in.
It's day three, and the coach stops in Le Mans, home of the famous 24 hour motor race. But forget 24 hours, the group barely last 24 minutes before being kicked off the racecourse for dangerous driving.
The group arrive in Normandy, France on day two of the new Coach Trip, where they make a moving visit to a World War II museum, and then enjoy an archery lesson.
It's day one, and the new tour party is pretty unimpressed to discover that tour guide Brendan has decided to start their grand tour with a spot of sailing off the coast of Portsmouth.
