The show's format consists of four to seven teams of two undertaking a coach tour principally of continental Europe. The tours have usually lasted 30 or 50 days, with passengers remaining on the tour only until they are ejected by their companions on one day, to be replaced by a new couple the following day. The travellers are accompanied by tour guide Brendan Sheerin, who appears in every episode.

On the final day of the trip the coach drives to Copenhagen. Brendan adds a bit of jazz to proceedings with a scat singing competition before the group celebrate their last afternoon.
The coach rolls into Roskilde and the group are taught the basics of Viking combat. They wind down with a laughter yoga class, but the last yellow card vote is no laughing matter.
The group enjoy a bit of fresh air in Middelfart where they spend the morning whale watching - although one tourist's eye seems to be drawn to something else entirely.
It's a day of highs and lows in Aarhus, Denmark. The group go scuba diving with sharks but it's no drop in the ocean for one tourist. But which couple will bottom out at the vote?
In Denmark, Brendan Sheerin leads the tourists towards at the industrial city of Aalborg, where they take part in a glass-blowing class and make traditional sweets.
A new couple make an immediate impression, before things get competitive at a game of Frisbee golf. Brendan crosses a particularly prickly character during a flower-arranging class, and the result of the vote determines which pair must leave.
The tourists arrive in Norway's capital city Oslo, and play curling with the country's Olympic team. They also visit the Norwegian Museum of Magic, where one pair put a plan into action that leads to an explosive vote.
The tourists arrive in the fortress town of Fredrikstad in Norway, where Brendan helps out a local guide with his tour before a rather unique poetry workshop. The group then heads to the local soccer stadium to have a go at bubble football, before there is big trouble at the vote.
The coach arrives in the Swedish village of Nysater, and the tourists become Vikings for the morning as they row a longboat under the watchful eye of a fearsome local. Later, a life-drawing class with model Ingrid raises more than a few eyebrows before battlelines are drawn at the vote.
The tourists participate in a tree-top rope course in Karlstad, before traditional Swedish sack fighting gives them the chance to take their frustrations out on one another ahead of the vote.
The tourists reach the halfway point of their trip in Orebro, Sweden, where there is a very strong reaction to a fishy local delicacy. Brendan shakes things up with a castle ghost tour in the evening, before one couple react badly at the vote to the guide's surprise rule change.
The tourists continue their journey as they arrive in Eskilstuna, Sweden. They experience a spectacular gliding trip and taste some local beers during a brewery tour. However, there is a heated debate later at the vote.
The tourists arrive in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, where Brendan struggles to keep his cool on a chaotic canoe journey, and one of the group shows him up by falling asleep on a tour of the royal palace.
The tourists arrive in Turku, Finland, where the group takes part in a folk dancing class, before learning how to make gingerbread. Meanwhile, one of the travellers struggles to integrate with the group, which causes some tension at the vote.
The tourists travel to Hameenlinna in Finland, where they try out some wakeboarding and meet Rudolph and friends at a reindeer park. Plus, some new arrivals make an impression on the group.
A ferry brings the tourists to Helsinki, Finland, where they enjoy a husky ride before partaking in a spot of wife-carrying. A friendship is betrayed at the vote, which causes tears before bedtime.
The tourists explore the Estonian capital city of Tallinn, where one of the group is told off by Brendan Sheerin at a marzipan-making class. Later, they visit a maritime museum before the evening's vote.
The tourists arrive in Rapla, Estonia, where one of the group proves to be a formidable opponent for the country's Olympic wrestling team, and another's desire to share his knowledge has mixed results at a blacksmith's workshop. Plus, a close vote causes tension.
The tourists arrive at Parnu in Estonia, where they sample the country's cuisine and take part in a harmonica class, before an extra contestant brought along by one of the couples proves unpopular at the vote.
A brand new Baltic and Scandinavian adventure starts in Latvia with a hair-raising thrill ride and some encounters with local pottery.
On the final day of the trip the tourists arrive in Riga, Latvia, where they try their hand at opera singing, with varying degrees of success. The atmosphere is dampened by the hospitalisation of one of the group and the concern that they will not all make it to the end. To top things off, there is a spectacular Segway crash, before an emotional vote takes place and the winning couple are crowned.
The tourists arrive in Viciunai, Lithuania, on the penultimate day of the trip and sample a morning t'ai chi class. Later, the group battles through a boggy and insect-ridden swamp during a hike, and the couples hope to survive the final vote.
The group visits Alytus in southern Lithuania, where Brendan Sheerin stuns the tourists by snapping after another raucous night. Spirits are lifted by the sight of some familiar faces, before the group pulls poses during a memorable horse photography class. The afternoon is spent zip-wiring, and another couple flies home following a feisty vote.
In Goldap, Poland, dark clouds engulf Brendan Sheerin following a night of bad behaviour in the hotel. Later, the tourists make hay models and bake some traditional Polish cakes ahead of the vote.
The rain in Lomza sees the British spirit in full swing during a sightseeing boat tour. The group cut some mean shapes at a breakdancing class, but Brendan sends a bolt from the blue ahead of a hostile vote.
The group visit Poland's national football stadium. Things go with a bang at an immersive history lesson. And one couple's fate looks precarious at the vote.
Brendan uncovers his 'street' persona at an urban art class. Another new couple arrive before the group go full-throttle at the go-kart track. But one couple hit the skids at an emotional vote.
The group arrive in Konin, where a three-time Olympian gives them a lesson in fencing. And a visit to a chocolate baths creates unbridled merriment.
After a surprise morning departure, the group get stuck into making lollipop lookalikes. A language lesson finds Brendan sweet-talking an angry tourist, but will the war of words continue at the vote?
On the 10th day of their trip the group head to Mysliborz in Poland, but, once they have arrived, experience difficulty both in finding a rural farm and milking goats. The visitors draw attention to themselves during a raft-building competition, and the holiday is over for one couple after the vote.
A morning ding-dong sees one couple take temporary leave of the coach. Bowling produces a shock winner and there's a surprise or two in store as the coach visits a cold war bunker.
Brendan enjoys himself more than most at a cabaret class before a city beer bike tour is interrupted by rain - as well as an urgent toilet stop. But there's no relief for one couple at the vote.
After a morning tobogganing one couple's relationship takes a turn for the worse over lunch. The group attempt to learn the tricks of the trade from an expert at a clown museum, but there's much more for Brendan to juggle with after one tourist storms out of the vote.
The tourists have their taste buds tickled on day six by some rather unusual and exotic coffee beans, before Brendan drops some shattering news as they arrive to play ice-hockey. Relations remain frosty at the vote.
The group arrive in Bielefeld and take on the sport of bossaball - volleyball on trampolines - before one tourist's temperature is raised after some close attention at a hammam.
At a boating lake a weighty issue sees the group make waves with the locals. Revelations abound on the coach and it's feeding, as well as fright time, at the zoo. Brendan's new rules see one couple come a cropper at the vote.
Brendan resorts to cheating when the group are handed a tiling challenge at an open air museum. There's wide-eyed amazement over lunch, before one tourist sees the light at a skateboarding class - in a local church.
The group have a spring in their step as they go on a bouncy Kangoo tour of Rotterdam, before tasting the local tipple at a Dutch gin museum. But it's the vote that leaves a bitter taste in the tourists' mouth.
It's day one of a brand new tour and first stop is Brendan's backyard and a day in sunny Scarborough. After a morning making fish and chips, the tourists have a ripper of a time at a caricature class, before battle lines are drawn at the first vote.
