The Block
2003The fifth season of The Block premiered on Monday, 16 April 2012 at 7:00 pm on the Nine Network. Both host Scott Cam and "Challenge Master" Shelley Craft returned from the previous season. Like the previous season, this season was filmed in Melbourne, with the four houses to be renovated located in the inner-city suburb of South Melbourne. At first, this season wasn't to air in New Zealand, but has now been picked up by TV3. All four previous seasons have aired on Prime.

All four houses go up for public auction. Each team will keep the profit they make over reserve and the team with the highest margin will also win the grand prize of $100,000.
