In the Season 8 finale, the final two chefs must prepare five-course meals to be judged by five L.A.-area executive chefs and food-service executives. The winner receives a head-chef position at LA Market at the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles.
The challenge: create a balanced fusion dish. The judges: Top L.A. chefs Philip Dubose (Asia de Cuba), Helene An (Crustacean) and Lee Hefter (Spago). Then, at dinner service, tempers flare and Chef Ramsay must intervene.
Only four chefs remain, and the pressure is on for each contestant to prove to Chef Ramsay that he or she has the chops to move forward in the competition. In a challenge designed to test the chefs’ ability to identify key ingredients and rely on their palate, Chef Ramsay asks the contestants to recreate a brilliant dish using only sight, smell and taste…

The winning team is rewarded with a shopping spree at a cooking store, while the losing team is placed on delivery duty.
Chef Ramsay is disappointed when his aspiring chefs praise fast food items disguised as five-star hotel food, with only one identifying the chicken wings from his own five star hotel as their favorite. He challenges the chefs to a blind taste test and another of them proves to be a standout, allowing their team to enjoy a day of shopping, followed by dining in a top restaurant. The losers are made to sort trash for recycling.
Chefs created a menu of an appetizer and two main dishes for a high school prom. The winning team went to an amusement park, while the losing team cleaned the kitchens and helped the prom committee put up decorations.
The remaining aspiring chefs compete in the third episode of Hell's Kitchen.
