Ni Hao, Kai-Lan is an American children's television show, which premiered on Nickelodeon on November 5, 2007, and on Noggin on December 15, 2008. It also premiered on the Canadian Television Channel Treehouse TV Since March 2009 the show has also aired on Nickelodeon in Israel. Ni Hao, Kai-lan is based on the childhood memories of the show's creator Karen Chau growing up in a bicultural household. “Ni hao” means “Hello” in Mandarin, and Kai-Lan is the Chinese name Chau was given at birth, which was later anglicized to Karen.

When the Monkey King visits Kai-lan and her friends, he needs her help in a magical kingdom where the foxes and the bears do not talk to each other. Kai-lan and her friends travel to the kingdom of foxes and bears to try and get them to talk to each other, but it may prove to be Kai-lan's greatest challenge yet.
The Hula Ducks are having a dance party on the beach, and Kai-Lan and her friends are invited. While playing musical chairs, Tolee has to sit out every time because he lost when he did not pay attention to when the music stops and still dances rather than acting fast to find a chair. Kai-Lan needs your help to find a way for Tolee to play so he will not be left out.
The ants, snails, and worms are busy building a new fruit stand in Ant City. When Ye Ye gives Kai-Lan and her friends kites for a present, they forget about the wrapping paper, causing problems for the ants, snails, and worms when their trash gets everywhere. Kai-Lan and her friends need to help take care of the place where they all live before the insects find out.
When the snails' merry go round breaks because it went over a rock and crashed at the bottom of a hill. Kai-Lan and her friends agree to build a new merry go round for the baby snails. When Tolee promises to help, he runs off to go see the ants' scooter race. Kai-Lan needs your help to show Tolee that he should be a good friend and keep his promise.
Today, there's going to be a special garden celebration, and Kai-Lan and her friends are gathering their best vegetables. But when Tolee's beloved stuffed panda, Pandy, falls in the mud, Ye-Ye takes him away to clean him, which makes Tolee very sad. Kai-Lan and the viewer need to help Tolee feel better so he can enjoy the special garden celebration.
Kai-Lan's Playhouse Kai-Lan and her friends are going to decorate their brand-new playhouse. But when Hoho gets furious since there is no yellow paint, his picture gets ruined with black paint, and Rintoo takes the banana stickers, he ends up hitting Rintoo on the left leg. This prompts Ye Ye to send Hoho to time-out until he can calm down. It's up to Kai-Lan and the viewer need to teach Hoho that hitting is wrong, and he should use his words.
Kai-Lan and her friends are invited to play at Lulu's house. But Hoho is feeling uncomfortable because things are different. It's up to the viewer to help Kai-Lan show Hoho there is nothing to be afraid of when trying different things.
Kai-Lan and her friends go sailing and play hide and seek along with the dolphins. Rintoo loves driving too much and does not give Tolee a turn, so Tolee stops the boat with its anchor and jumps on a raft and gets mad at Rintoo. Kai-Lan and the viewer need to show Rintoo the importance of taking turns so everyone can play and fast, so they can find the last dolphin.
Kai-lan and her friends build a "snowcoaster," but some people hog all the tasks and don't let others share in the work.
Kai-lan and her pals get to take part in a show with the Chinese Rabbit Acrobats. However, Rintoo doesn't practice his flips, so he quits the show.
Kai-lan and her buddies go on a train ride and realize there isn't room for their elephant pal Stompy, so they build a new train car for Stompy.
Kai-lan's band and some dancing ants prepare for a talent show, but the show is almost ruined when a bossy ant tries to control the dance number.
The gang goes to a water park, where Rintoo annoys everyone with his roughhousing.
Kai-lan wants to throw a thank-you party for Ye ye, but when nothing goes as planned, she gets frustrated and starts crying. Her pals then show her how to rely on humor to get through disappointing situations.
Hoho is thrilled that he gets to stay awake for his first Chinese Moon Festival, but soon be becomes disappointed when a cloudy sky hides the moon.
While at a party at Tolee's house, Rintoo accidentally tears Tolee's new painting. Kai-lan then stresses the importance of forgiveness to a very upset Tolee.
Hoho doesn't get the part he wants in a play about the Monkey King, so he lets his anger get the best of him and quits the play. Kai-lan then tries to get him to express his frustration in a calm way.
The gang members work on making a dinosaur-shaped balloon for a festival, and they learn the importance of pitching in after Stompy initially shows some reluctance to helping Kai-lan fix a balloon she broke.
The gang heads to the Ladybug Festival and Tolee leads the way through the woods, but Rintoo and Hoho chatter so much they can't hear Tolee's directions. Kai-lan then tries explaining to her pals how important it is to listen to others.
