With the Upper Crust opening a week away, Robbie already has a full plate when she learns that Andre has been suspended from school again. Meanwhile, Tim is worried about the true intentions of Charles' new girlfriend, Latina.
Tim and Jenae are fighting while Charles tries to secure a respectable spot in the family business. And with the Upper Crust opening just two weeks away, Robbie must decide whether or not to close the Mangrove and West Florissant locations.
Oprah Winfrey shows up unexpectedly at Sweetie Pie's; Robbie pushes her resisting contractors toward the Upper Crust finish line; and Andre is suspended from school for a week for fighting, and Tim is put in charge of schooling him.
Robbie must run the business by herself because Tim is distracted by his show-business endeavors. But she does persuade him to help judge auditions for the Upper Crust, and he finds one performance surprisingly charming.
Change is in the air at Sweetie Pie's: Jenae pushes up her wedding date; Tim pursues his music career; and a crisis in the kitchen forces Robbie to decide who'll go to the Upper Crust and who'll be left behind.
Miss Robbie is pushed to the edge. For starters, she learns that she needs $50,000 to fix the new restaurant's leaking roof. And Tim starts acting out, forcing her to fire him. That leaves only Lil Charles to help run the business.
Tim Plans a cook-off with Miss Robbie to determine whose recipes should appear on the menu at the new restaurant. Meanwhile, Jenae and her new wedding planners try to get Tim's attention; and Charles starts training to be a bartender - by getting drunk.
Trust becomes an issue when Miss Robbie's prized picture is stolen from the restaurant and her 17-year old grandson lies about dating an older employee. Meanwhile, Tim and Jenae try to find a nanny for TJ when Jenae goes back to work.
Miss Robbie's oldest grandson wants to move to St. Louis - and into her house. Meanwhile, Tim is dealing with Jenae's foray into wedding planning, and the new assistant manager can't seem to stop crying.
Tim, Jenae, and their baby, TJ, move into Miss Robbie's place, pushing the limits of the house's capacity, and adding to the tensions that already exist between Robbie and Tim over construction on the new restaurant.
Robbie finally gets the loan to enable her to start construction on her dream restaurant; Lil' Charles plans for college; Tim stokes the fires of romance with Jenae; and the Montgomerys throw a baby shower for Jenae.

While Lil Charles copes with his suspension from work, Tim takes on a meal for 5000 people at an event at the St. Louis Arch and Miss Robbie ponders an offer to sell the building she envisioned for her dream restaurant.
Miss Robbie's old flame visits St. Louis and Lil Charles tests the romantic waters with a foreign-exchange student. Meanwhile, Tim struggles to communicate his feelings to Jenae following their son's premature birth.
The premature birth of Tim and Jenae's baby boy leaves Grandma Robbie working hard to keep the restaurants running smoothly. It also forces Lil Charles to take some responsibility.
Two events test Miss Robbie's nerves: She discovers that her kitchen manager, Pops, lied; and Jenae her daughter-in-law-to-be, who is six months pregnant, has a medical emergency.
Miss Robbie leaves Tim in charge at Sweetie Pie's to plan her birthday party. This year's bash will include a reunion performance of her old group, the Ikettes.
