The contest is the largest pageant in the world in terms of live TV coverage, airing yearly in more than 190 countries worldwide to an audience of over 2.5 billion people. Miss Universe 2023 was the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, held at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador, on 18 November 2023.
Miss Universe 2022 was the 71st Miss Universe pageant, held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on 14 January 2023.

Miss Universe 2020 was the 69th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States, on 16 May 2021. This edition, to date, is the only time the pageant has been broadcast on FYI after Fox, its regular broadcaster, backed out due to uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic
Miss Universe 2019 will be the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition. It will be held on December 8, 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. Catriona Gray of the Philippines will crown her successor by the end of the event. The pageant will be hosted by Steve Harvey in his fifth consecutive year as host, while Olivia Culpo and Vanessa Lachey will serve as backstage corespondents and Ally Brooke will perform. A new crown made by luxury jeweler Mouawad will make its debut.
Miss Universe 2018, the 67th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 17 December 2018[a] at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi Province, northern suburb of Bangkok, Thailand. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa crowned her successor Catriona Gray of the Philippines by the end of the event. The show was hosted by comedian Steve Harvey and supermodel Ashley Graham, while television personality Carson Kressley and runway coach Lu Sierra provided commentary and analysis throughout the event. American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo performed during the competition. Contestants from 94 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 92 contestants in 2017. Ángela Ponce of Spain became the first openly transgender contestant to compete for the Miss Universe title.
Miss Universe 2017 was the 66th Miss Universe pageant, held at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on 26 November 2017.
Miss Universe 2016 was the 65th Miss Universe pageant, held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on 30 January 2017. This is the second time in the history of the competition that the pageant skipped an entire year, following the 2014 pageant which was held in January 2015.
Miss Universe 2015 was the 64th Miss Universe pageant, held at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on 20 December 2015. This was the first edition of the pageant to be held under the ownership of WME/IMG, which purchased the Miss Universe Organization from Donald Trump on 14 September 2015. Consequently, it is also the first Miss Universe event to be aired by Fox and Azteca as the pageant's respective English and Spanish broadcasters instead of NBC.
Miss Universe 2014 was the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, held at the FIU Arena in Florida, United States on 25 January 2015. This was the first time in the history of the competition that the pageant was not during the year the title was awarded for. However, the pageant was still known as the 2014 pageant.
Miss Universe 2013 was the 62nd Miss Universe pageant, held at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow, Russia on 9 November 2013.
Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, that was held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil last September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor Leila Lopes of Angola at the end of the pageant.[4] Contestants from 89 countries and territories are participating in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.
Miss Universe 2009, the 58th Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Imperial Ballroom, Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. It was the first back to back victories in Miss Universe history: Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe 2009 by outgoing titleholder Dayana Mendoza. 84 countries and territories competed for the title and the pageant was broadcast live on NBC and Telemundo. On August 22, Jewel Selver representing Turks & Caicos withdrew from the pageant due to illness. Only 83 contestants competed in the final on August 23.
Hosted by Jerry Springer and spice girl Mel B and held at Nha Trang Vietnam. This is the 57th Miss Universe pageant. There are 80 contestants this year, but only one will be the winner. The judges have voted and Dayana Mendoza from Veneuela is crowned Miss Universe 2008.
Miss Universe 2007 was the 56th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, Mexico on May 28, 2007. At the end of the event, Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico crowned Riyo Mori from Japan as Miss Universe 2007.

Miss Universe 2001 was the 50th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, held at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on 11 May 2001. At the end of the event, Lara Dutta of India crowned Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico as Miss Universe 2001.
Miss Universe 2000 was the 49th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Eleftheria Indoor Hall in Nicosia, Cyprus on 12 May 2000.
Miss Universe 1999 was the 48th Miss Universe pageant, held on 26 May 1999 at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago. Mpule Kwelagobe of Botswana was crowned by Wendy Fitzwilliam of Trinidad and Tobago at the end of the event.
Miss Universe 1998 was the 47th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 12 May 1998 at the Stan Sheriff Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. Wendy Fitzwilliam of Trinidad and Tobago was crowned by Brook Lee of the USA at the end of the event.
Miss Universe 1997 was the 46th Miss Universe pageant, held on 16 May 1997 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida, United States. Brook Lee of the United States was crowned by Alicia Machado of Venezuela at the end of the event. Seventy-four delegates competed in this year. This is the first Miss Universe edition to be produced by Donald Trump.

This was the last time that the Miss Universe was run by ITT Corp. Alicia Machado of Venezuela was crowned by Chelsi Smith from the United States at the end of the event. 79 contestants competed in this edition.
Miss Universe 1995 was the 44th Miss Universe pageant, held on 12 May 1995 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort in Windhoek, Namibia. Chelsi Smith of the United States was crowned by Sushmita Sen of India at the end of the event. Eighty-two contestants competed in this year. This marks the first and so far only time the pageant has been held in Africa.
Miss Universe 1994 was the 43rd Miss Universe pageant, held on 21 May 1994[a] at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay, Philippines. A grand total of seventy-seven contestants competed during this year. Outgoing titleholder Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico crowned Sushmita Sen of India at the end of the event, marking the first time India has won Miss Universe.

Miss Universe 1992 was the 41st Miss Universe pageant, held on 9 May 1992 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. Seventy-eight contestants competed in this year. Michelle McLean of Namibia was crowned by Lupita Jones of Mexico at the event's conclusion. This is the first and so far only time that Namibia won the pageant.

Miss Universe 1988 was the 37th Miss Universe pageant, held on 24 May 1988 sponsored by Formosa Airlines at the Lin Kou Stadium in Taipei, Taiwan.
