Neighbours is an Australian television soap opera. The show's storylines concern the domestic and professional lives of the people who live and work in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The series primarily centres around the residents of Ramsay Street, a short cul-de-sac, and its neighbouring areas, the Lassiters complex, which includes a bar, hotel, cafe, news office and park. Neighbours began with three families created by Watson – the Ramsays, the Robinsons and the Clarkes. Watson said that he wanted to show three families who are friends living in a small street. The Robinsons and the Ramsays had a long history and were involved in an ongoing rivalry.

Peter has something incredible to ask Sarah. Bill finds out that Karl has been covering bills for his business. He works his butt off to pay Karl out of the business, as it's the only way to keep him from interfering. Joel is not the man he thinks he is, or is he?

Peter thinks he may be called away due to a natural disaster in Karu. Sarah is doing her best to be supportive. Peter confides in Karl how deeply in love he is with Sarah. As Peter is about to leave, and the taxi is waiting, Peter confesses to Sarah that for the first time in his life, he's unsure about what to do. Should he go, or should he stay? It all depends on how Sarah feels about him. Lance goes to a huge effort to earn enough money to take Amy out to dinner. Amy thinks they should all move into Anne's and Lance takes this the wrong way. Lou diversifies into commercial plants. Harold orders some, as does Karl for Bill's workshop. To their collective horrors many more are ordered than expected and they are huge.

Bill can't wait to move out of home and Anne is equally enthusiastic, until Phil presents her with a realistic budget and Ruth offers some sound advice. Anne tells Bill she wants to rent out the house, and Bill blames her meddling family. Lou and Harold are competing fiercely in the poetry competition, but Joel surprises all, and wins. Peter shows up on Sarah's doorstep, wanting to spend some time alone. Sarah forgoes her study but the pair have difficulty deciding what to do. They eventually come to a compromise and have an incredible day together which lasts until the early house of the next morning.

Anne's day in court arrives, and thanks to Mildred she's pleased to send Gary back to Perth with his tail between his legs after winning the case. Lance is jealous of Anne's victory. Bill sets to work on Coletti's bed head and Karl only gets in the way. Bill finally loses his cool and takes out his frustrations on his work, splitting the beautiful wood in two.

Drew and Libby head back to Erinsborough, but are held up when they discover Dougal has stowed away in the back of their car. Paul organizes a day at the beach with Tad, to end their feud, but drama continues when Paul and Hannah arrive late. Drew and Libby have to make a stop over in their trip home and are forced to spend the night in a dilapidated cabin. There's only one bed and Libby innocently wonders which side of the bed Drew would like, but Drew isn't ready for a platonic night in bed with the woman he loves.

Hannah and Paul are spending some time alone in Paul's bedroom - but it's actually a totally innocent encounter. All is going well until Harold arrives home and lets his imagination run wild. Tad has had a brainwave - organising an underage concert at the school. The Rodeo Ball goes into full swing and Drew and Libby are the star attractions. Drew finds it impossible to spend time alone with Libby as each are swept off their feet by eager locals. But Rose continues to match make, much to Drew's annoyance. Shell's waters break and she heads off to hospital to have a baby.

Harold and Madge are upset with Paul's behaviour. Paul and Hannah offload Tad to spend time together. Ron pressures Drew to ride in the rodeo, for the sake of family tradition. He's finally worn down and agrees to enter, but he draws Chaffcutter, the meanest horse in Oakey and Rose is concerned. Ray, will win the championship, but Drew gives him a run for his money and stays astride his horse for the allotted time. Just as he's about the dismount, the unthinkable happened - he's thrown to the ground and doesn't get up.

Even though they discover it's an over age concert, Paul, Tad and Hannah all sneak out to the Battery Acid concert. The night is ruined when they are sprung. Karl's dissatisfication about his job and life is starting to upset Susan.

Peter does call and they end having dinner with Karl and Susan. Drew takes Libby on a tour of Oakey and it seems everyone assumes they are a couple. Harold shows Susan some poems he wrote when he had amnesia and she dosen't have the heart to tell him they are awful.

Harold and Lou are embroiled in a food poisoning scare. Lance is devastated by Ruth's attitude and seeks advice from Amy. He writes Ruth an emotional letter which touches a nerve in Ruth. Drew and Libby breakdown just outside of Oakey and gets a tow into town with Drew's dad. Drew's family is pleased to see their prodigal son and all seem to think Libby is his girlfriend.

Sarah runs into Peter and he apologizes for standing her up. They have a great lunch, but once again he leaves without organizing another catch up. Anne steals Bill's portfolio to give it a more professional look. Anne shows Vincenzo who orders an ornate, expensive bed and Bill is rapt. Lance finds the fob watch and puts it on lay-by.

Karl and Susan hit the streets on a tandem bike. Karl's trousers get caught in the bike chain and they head to the pub for help. They can't get his pants free, so Karl takes them off and is promptly caught by Peter and Sarah in his underwear. Madge finally tells Lou of her fears. Lolly is relying on her too much and Lou reacts badly, thinking Madge is trying to tell him he's a bad parent. Peter and Sarah have a great night and don't arrive home until the early hours of the morning. Peter doesn't arrive to take Sarah to dinner as planned - has her potential new love stood her up?

Ruth is reeling from Lance's gambling admission and is angry to hear almost everyone else know about the problem except for her. A misunderstanding after Tad catches Paul & Hannah kissing, leads Hannah to belive this kiss meant nothing. Bess sets Sarah up with an aid worker she knows. Sarah is expecting one of Bess' typically hippy friends and is not keen, but is pleasantly surprised when the dashing Doctor Peter Hannay walks into the room. There's trouble in paradise for Joel and Geri when Geri starts to move her things into No. 30.

Lance is furious when unbeknown to him, Toadfish tries to get him a job at the pub. Lou is having trouble with Louise who is being very disobedient and only wants to spend time with Madge. Tad and Paul repair their friendship and cause a disaster at the radio station when they pretend to be trapped in a hold-up a Lou's pub. Tad's punishment is not to lie for three whole days.

Lance comes clean to Ruth and Phil about his gambling problem. They're worried and can't seem to get through to Lance. It's only when Amy approaches Lance to see if she can help, that he admits he has a problem. He admits to Amy that she stole Ruth's fob watch. Libby is starting to wonder if going to Oakey is the right move.

Lance gets a mate to lay one last bet for him, using the money he got from pawning Ruth's stolen fob watch. When he returns home he finds Ruth devastated and the family horrified at the invasion. Fortunately for Lance, the horse wins, but unfortunately Anne sees Chris hand over the winnings to Lance. Anne demands Lance tell Ruth that he's gambling or she will. Anne's plans to second time with Bill are thwarted, but in fact Bill is working on a surprise for her birthday. All is forgiven when he gives her the hand-made desk. Madge and Harold realize how difficult Paul's decision was to stay in Erinsborough.

Bill's big day at the market is a disaster when he's ignored, but as soon as Amy starts spruking, things change and Bill sells all his wares. Drew offers Libby a trip back home to Oakey for the rodeo. Lance is desperate for money. He's blown all the insurance money and Phil is wondering where it is. As far as he can see, the only way out of his problems is a big win. Lance finds what he thinks is the answer, closer to home.

Tad needs a job so he can take a Year 12 girl on a date. He asks for Paul's job after he leaves Erinsborough and only gets the job by undercutting Paul. Libby brings Tom home for a visit and he leads Bill astray with a night out at his old haunt - the Hammer and Anvil.

After last week's disastrous dinner party, Amy says she can't possibly go to Anne's 18th party. But Anne convinces her to change her mind and is shocked when Amy says she'll bring Damien. Paul and Hannah have decided to drop their grudges and be friends. Paul gives Hannah the letter he wrote whilst she was away, but never sent. Madge returns home from Queensland. She's hoping Paul has changed her mind about leaving Erinsborough.

The witness is sure Toadie wasn't the one who dumped the car. Meanwhile, Henk accosts Sarah at the pub, again and she notices he has glasses very similar to the ones Toadie lost. Toadie suspects Henk is the car thief, but all he needs is a plan. Toadie arrives with Janine and she identifies Henk. The police arrive and make an arrest. After much negotiation, Sarah and Joel finally agree to help Lou out with his pear passion promotion. The carefully planned launch falls in a heap. The curtain rolls back to reveal Sarah and Joel dressed as Adam and Eve. But the pair appear anything but biblical, arguing at the top of their lungs about whether Joel's girlfriend should be allowed to move into No 30. With the help of Harold, Karl identifies the mystery poet, it's Susan. Karl decides to get her back by serenading her outside the window.

Lance is sick of the tension in the household and takes matters into his own hands. He confronts Bill and tells him to stay out of their lives. Ruth gives Phil an ultimatum - forgive her or she'll leave him. Sarah is horrified at the thought of Geri moving in. Sarah, Joel & Toadfish door knock houses in the street where Toadie's car was dumped. They have no luck, but later get a call from a person who saw Toadie's car dumped.

Trouble at the factory for Karl and Bill. Hannah makes a play for Joel. Joel's new girlfriend causes problems at number thirty.

Anne and Bill plan as much time together now that he's back from Ballarat. Bill's miffed that all Anne seems to talk about is Vincenzo.

Toadie presents himself at the police station. Sgt Stamisorth tells Toadie that he believes he failed to stop or render assistance at the accident and they will be trying to establish if this is so. Toadie nervously agrees to supply fingerprints.

Craig Pinders snaps out of his coma. Paul refuses to talk with Harold. Bad news for Toadie.
