Neighbours is an Australian television soap opera. The show's storylines concern the domestic and professional lives of the people who live and work in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The series primarily centres around the residents of Ramsay Street, a short cul-de-sac, and its neighbouring areas, the Lassiters complex, which includes a bar, hotel, cafe, news office and park. Neighbours began with three families created by Watson – the Ramsays, the Robinsons and the Clarkes. Watson said that he wanted to show three families who are friends living in a small street. The Robinsons and the Ramsays had a long history and were involved in an ongoing rivalry.

Drew is becoming exhausted after throwing himself into his work to get his mind off Libby, but his overworking has serious consequences as a moment's carelessness leads to disaster. Meanwhile, Dione decides it's time to find Lance a new girlfriend.

Joe consoles a tearful Flick, who later apologises to Tad and Paul for not trusting them. Meanwhile Tess gets a pleasant surprise when her former flatmate arrives back in town - which starts tongues wagging. Lyn decides to pull out of the hairdressing competition.

The fortune of the Scully's seems to look bright when Joe receives a windfall cheque that could clear all his debts. Tad becomes convinced that older woman Doula is interested in him, while Drew nurses a broken heart. Flick misconstrues Pete's encouragement of her soccer skills and finally gathers the courage to ask him on a date, but before he can answer, she is treated to a rude shock.

Michelle comes clean to her parents over her friendship with Damon. Tad's debut at the nightclub is a success, and Doula reveals she's going to make him an offer he can't refuse. Meanwhile tempers are frayed at the Scully household when Joe and Lyn come close to all-out warfare over a pair of scissors. However all-out war is averted by a knock on the door. A grinning Joe returns with an envelope in his hand - could the Scullys' fortune be about to change?

Susan is frustrated with Libby's stubbornness over Drew, and Tad risks losing his big break as a DJ until Flick decides to help in his search for a chaperone. Dione decides against telling Joel about her kiss with Max, and agoraphobic Damon is pushed into exiting his house when Michelle is viciously attacked by a dog.

Drew's happiness about a meeting with Libby is short lived when she hands him a box of his belongings and tells him she just wants to be friends. Meanwhile, despite her protests to Lyn, Steph is still deeply attracted to Drew. Passion ignites between Dione and Max as they hug each other goodnight.

Flick, eager to make an impression on Pete Redman at her first soccer training session, arrives looking her best, complete with make-up, jewellery and a zippy sports outfit. However her main rival Cheyenne tells her she's going to have to do more than look good to impress him. Meanwhile Lance is horrified when Toadie wins the university election, and Lyn suspects that Steph has romantic designs on Drew.

To Lance's shock and anger, he discovers Sandy Swimmer is actually Toadie. Paul is still failing in his efforts to attract Flick, whose feelings for Pete are growing stronger, and Tad searches for a chaperone for his nightclub gig. Lance and Toadie prepare to do battle as the electioneering becomes ever more intense.

Susan is tired of suppressing her feelings over the breakdown of Libby and Drew's relationship, and decides to attempt to speak to Libby. Michelle seeks Tess's advice about her relationship with Damon, while Lou is invited to spend some time with Merridy in the Northern Territories.

Karl is relieved when Glenda drops the malpractice suit. Drew on the other hand, is heart broken when he overhears Libby telling Susan she never wants to see him again. Lance and Toadie wonder if Dione is stringing Joel along.

Paul and Tad are intent on telling Flick the date with Postie Pete is a set-up, however they don't get the chance. Meanwhile, Joel does his best to force Steph and Max together, but when Dione finds out, she is furious. Will Glenda reconsider her decision to testify against Karl?

When Michelle scans the archives of the local paper, she is shocked to discover Damon served a short prison term for drink driving after the deaths of his wife and daughter.

Libby tries to explain her decision to Drew - the accident has caused her to re-evaluate her life and she's simply not ready for marriage. Meanwhile, Lance's election campaign continues to be railroaded by Sandy Swimmer, whose identity still remains unknown.

Drew remains blissfully unaware of Libby's feelings and is cheerful and optimistic about their future together - until Libby blurts out that the wedding is off and that she no longer loves him. Drew is left devastated.

Things start to look up for Harold when Wendy finally promises to tell the police about Alfie. Meanwhile, Libby snaps under the strain of rescheduling the wedding, telling Susan the wedding is off.

Libby feels she can't give Drew the life he wants, now that she can't have children. She subconsciously pushes him away, and when Drew mentions rescheduling the wedding, Libby fights back tears. The façade is hard to keep up.

Michelle is overcome by the sadness of Damon's life when she learns of the tragic events that led to the death of his wife and daughter. Meanwhile, Tess meets with Brendan's lawyer to discuss his Will - which is nothing like she expected.

Libby wants some space from Drew. He later confides in Steph, who tells him to simply give Libby what she wants and not be overly concerned. Later, however, when Steph's bike is dropped off at the garage, Drew is shocked to hear she plans to ride it again.

Libby's condition gradually improves, but her visits from Drew are causing her to become depressed. Drew wants to talk about her inability to have children, but Libby snaps and tells him to leave her alone. Meanwhile, Toadie enters another moneymaking scam, when Louise introduces him to the latest kid's game to sweep the world.

Harold faces a jail sentence unless Wendy testifies on his behalf - which she flatly refuses to do. Madge overhears the confrontation between Harold and Wendy and quickly calls the police, but Wendy gets away. Meanwhile, Dione wants Joel to join her for dinner with an old boyfriend. Joel wonders if there is some unfinished business between the two.

Michelle returns to the scary house to retrieve the camera and is met by a pleasant surprise. Steph, on the other hand, is suffering from nightmares and depression. Lance suggests she seek counselling, but Steph keeps a stiff upper lip - she's a Scully after all.

When Michelle investigates the scary house, she encounters a man inside - Damon. Michelle flees terrified. Madge and Harold consider using a private investigator to locate Wendy Baker - the only clue to the charges laid against Harold.

Libby is faced with the news she can never have children. Although she tries to make light of the situation, Drew is devastated. Meanwhile, Michelle persuades Bianca to conceal a video camera outside the scary man's house.

Awkwardness gets the better of Lance, Toadie and Steph at their poker game, so Steph suggests they talk about what's really going on. Meanwhile, Libby admits to her parents that she can't wait to have children with Drew - which leads to Karl and Susan deciding to tell Libby the truth about her injuries.

Following advice, Karl decides to settle the Ryan's case out of court. Though it stings Karl, he wants to protect his reputation and given the situation with Libby, wants to alleviate further stress. Meanwhile, in an effort to return their relationship to normal, Steph suggests a poker night with Lance and Toadie. Will it be an awkward night for all?

Karl is relieved when the Medical Board exonerates him over the Glenda Ryan case. However it's not over yet - he still has the Ryan's civil case hanging over his head, along with his concerns for Libby's injuries. Meanwhile, Steph confides in Drew about Toadie and Lance. Drew however, finds it all amusing.

Harold and Madge seem to be stalked by a new arrival in town. Later, they discover that the woman, Wendy Barker, has been heartbroken and left destitute by a man named Alfie. She thinks Harold is Alfie - despite Madge's efforts to convince her otherwise.

Teresa is forced to face the reality of Brendan's death and admits despite all that went wrong, she still loves him. Meanwhile, Libby finally begins to recover from the infection.

Teresa overhears Brendan practically confess to Libby's accident, and realises she has been a fool. Brendan asks for her forgiveness, but Tess struggles. Later, in the midst of her emotional confusion, Tess gets an urgent call to come to the hospital. What could it be?

Susan breaks down as the reality of Libby's accident sets in. She is forced to call the wedding guests to cancel the wedding. Meanwhile, Tess wants to believe Brendan, but things are made difficult when Toadie tells her what he saw the night of the accident.

While Libby remains in a critical condition, Karl realises there may be damage to her reproductive organs, but keeps this from Drew and Susan to save their concern. Meanwhile, Madge, Harold and Lou are invited to a school reunion, which leaves them excited. However, Harold is forced to face harsh reality - he may be unable to make it, he could be in jail.

The aftermath of the motorcycle accident leaves Libby lifeless on the side of the road. She is rushed to the hospital and undergoes emergency surgery. Steph on the other hand, sustains only minor injuries and is able to leave hospital the next day. Meanwhile, Toadie puts two and two together and realises Brendan was driving recklessly and that the collision has more to do with his culpable driving than a mere accident.

Libby and Steph find new levels to their friendship during their weekend away. However, joy turns to horror when Brendan, in a misguided jealous rage over Tess, hits the two girls and runs their bike off the road. Will the two survive the crash?

Steph senses Toadie is upset over a girl and is forced to admit she is the girl that Toadie is infatuated with. However, neither wants to risk embarrassment by talking about it. Joel on the other hand is thrilled - he has won back the girl and his father, Bernie, has arrived in town. Bernie and Dione seem to get on like a house on fire - could he be flirting with her?

Toadie and Joel interview the neighbourhood for their radio segment on the subject of love and lust. Dione gives a particularly long answer, so Joel cuts to the chase and kisses her. How will she react? Meanwhile, Toadie is crushed when Steph indicates that she will know when Mr Right comes along, but so far, that person has eluded her.

Karl's guilt over Glenda's condition worsens when Maurie arrives unexpectedly and tells Karl she is suing for negligence. Meanwhile, Toadie orchestrates more time with Steph, but she remains oblivious to his feelings for her. Public suspicion of Harold grows when his picture appears on the front page of the Erinsborough News.
